Two Week Tour

We went on a two week trip with Egypt Tours Portal and had a phenomenal time. Our itinerary was perfectly planned and allowed us to see the highlights of Egypt and more. We had a private driver and guide who met us in the different cities we traveled to — such a convenience! Especially when you’re exhausted after walking a tour site in the sun and heat to have a driver to pick you up right at the entrance and to have a guide who knows in advance to get the extra tickets for photography inside the different tombs / museums. Our guide in Cairo/Alexandria, Mohamed Elshemei, was very kind and very knowledgeable about the historical, architectural, political, and religious characteristics of each site we saw in Giza, Cairo, Djoser, and Alexandria. He was flexible and able to schedule an extra day onto the itinerary when we had a staggered departure from Cairo — this allowed us to see a few extra sites before going home. He also took great care of my mother, who wasn’t as nimble when it came to walking around the archeological sites, and ensured that she was able to see everything — including going inside one of the smaller, more accessible pyramids! Our guide from Luxor to Aswan was Omar Khalfa, another great guide who ensured our stay in Egypt was an amazing one. Omar made sure to find shade and water for us at the archeological sites and made sure we were accommodated for at every turn. We wanted to go for dinner and drinks in Aswan outside of our boat tour and he actually took time in his off hours to hire a taxi and take us across town to make sure that we arrived safely. Like Mohamed, Omar is a very kind and knowledgeable guide and certainly made our trip special.

We were given SIM cards for our phones — a big help for staying in touch with friends and family and also for Google Map references and staying in touch with our guides and with the Tours Portal admins. Our driver in Cairo/Alexandria (Minii) was fun and very kind. If an issue came up and we needed to contact the tour admin, our guides made sure to take care of it at once. When optional excursions / opportunities to see more came up, our guides presented the options but it never felt like we were being pushed into anything extra.

On the whole we had a very enjoyable, safe, and incredibly educational trip to Egypt. The Egyptian people themselves were very kind and hospitable. I look forward to taking a second trip again in the future.

A dream trip!!

Let me begin with my hesitation to take this tour. I would like to mention that I was in the beginning a little skeptical of taking a private tour from Egypt as I honestly thought that it wasn’t too safe as I had read somethings earlier abt safety from a few friends. However when I actually did my research, i realised that I can do this trip privately maybe with no problems.
When I was in my flight i was honestly a little scared because what my friends had told me was still ringing in my head although the gut feeling i had was that it will all be fine.
To my surprise this country is probably safer than any other country u might visit!!! This is for 2 reasons:
1) Egyptians are extremely lovely people and hospitality is in their blood
2) Egypt has a special police force for Tourists!! They will always greet you with a smile and u will be welcomed with any of your concerns.

I am yet to visit a country that can shower so much of love on you. On top of that if you are an Indian, you will be treated as one amongst them because Egyptians love Indians way too much. Not that they don’t love other people. I realised that when I saw a few Egyptian teen girls and boys wanting to take pictures with my mom and wife just because my mom had a Bindi on her forehead. That’s how they knew we are Indians. It is an experience by itself to see this kind of bonding which is so rare and beautiful.

I might have exchanged atleast 40 mails discussing my concerns with the tour operator of Egypt Tours Portal and he answered back every single query i had. A special thanks to him for all the patience he showed.
He incorporated the tour very beautifully to fit everything that i wanted to see and cover. Also all the restaurants which were chosen for lunch options were really nice with a lovely surprise of Dinner cruise and the Alexandria seaside lunch by the Mediterranean sea.
I have to mention that the Hurghada all inclusive experience was so much of fun and exciting!!! Thank you again for the selection of the lovely hotels. The entire tour organised by Egypt Tours portal was extremely professional and they were very punctual with the timings which is the key for a tour to be successful in Egypt as there is so much to see but all the places close down by 5. So its important to start early.
Now coming to the tour, we had 2 tour guides in the entire trip for different areas. And trust me when I say this, If you have an amazing tour guide in Egypt, you have an amazing trip!!
Let me also tell you that there are atleast 90% of people with the names of Mohamed and Mahmoud. So i would like to mention my tour guides with their full names so that you could locate them more conveniently.
Once we landed at Cairo, we were so happy to see a person waiting for us with our name on a slate. Once we were helped with our passport formalities, we were greeted by Mohamed Elshemei from Egypt Tours Portal at the Airport. The moment I met him i just knew this is going to be a great trip. He was extremely kind and sweet. We reached Cairo at 6 in the morning. We were given a complimentary surprise by Mohamed as he got us some amazing Hot Fresh Falafel which just added a lovely beginning to our trip in this beautiful country.
Mohamed Elshemei was our tour guide in Cairo and in Alexandria. He made every extra effort to make sure we were comfortable.
He was extremely well informed with great study of egyptology and his ability to be loud and clear made an extremely lovely impact on our experience of getting all that vital information on every thing that we saw. Especially in the Cairo Museum if you dont have a good guide, its like seeing a mere exhibition of statues and objects.
Mohamed truly stood out as one of the best guides I have ever toured with and his amazing ability to grab people’s mind was so evident when I observed at a couple of places that people were sometimes listening to him rather then paying attention to their own tour guides!!
Cairo can get really bad with traffic jams. Ali was our driver in Cairo and Alexandria. He was extremely patient with our timings and he was like a silent soldier who was always there by our side to assist us.

Coming to the part 2 of our tour. Our next zone was from Aswan to Luxor. We had a flight from Cairo to Aswan from where we were to take our 5 star nile cruise. As we reached Aswan, we had some one lovely waiting for us there. He came up to us and said “Hi, I am the Egyptian Tom Cruz”. This was Mahmoud Hasan Ali. Our second tour guide who was with us for 5 days from Aswan to Luxor. He was such a lovely person that within a days time we felt we were not 4 of us travelling as a family but we were rather 5 of us travelling as a family. There was an instant connect he had with my family and he became a part of us. Mahmoud had a lovely ability of being serious and funny at the same time to lighten the atmosphere as continuous serious guiding can get monotonous sometimes as there is so much of information to gather and know in Luxor, kom ombo, edfu, karnak, abu simbel. Hence Mahmoud was the perfect guide for this period. He was very well informed and explained to us all the possible details of the places we visited.
He was so connected to us that he called my dad Pappa and my mom mamma like the way i call them. He always helped my parents with holding their hands when ever they had difficulties in walking and needed help. He was just amazing.
When we parted we really felt that we were leaving behind a part of our family back in Egypt.

Marvelous trip to Egypt.
We just completed a 15 days tour of Egypt arranged by Egypt Tour Portal. They have done an outstanding job in meticulously planning and executing the entire trip. They provided us with private guides and drivers. The guides (Mohamed Elshemei in Cairo, Giza & Alexandria; and Ahmed in Aswan & Luxor). They were very knowledgeable about Egypt and extremely courteous and helpful. We spent five days in Cairo area, then flew down to Aswan where we took a five days cruise on the Nile visiting over 8 most spectacular ancient Egyptian temples and ending with four days at the beautiful resort on Red Sea at Hurghada. It was clearly the memorable experience we ever had and they made it so wonderful. I would recommend everyone to try this tour.

“A Trip of a Life Time.”
I have travelled around the world and i must confess that i have not written many reviews on trip advisor, but this is about to change as other peoples reviews on this site have helped me in choosing hotels or arranging trips over the years. I want to share my experience with you, about my journey through Egypt. All Thanks to Eygpt Tours Portal.
I initially booked a 2 week holiday to Hurghada with Thomas Cook. But I wanted to surprise my wife by adding the Nile cruise. Like many of you, I trolled the trip advisor site for hours looking for a good tour operator. After reading many reviews, I decided to get in touch with Egypt Tours Portal and they had a varied clients from around the world with got reviews. I first sent an email for prices. Ahmad the owner of ETP was very quick to respond to my enquiry with different prices, So we exchanged emails chopping and changing the itineraries. I wanted to do the sound and night show in Karnak and The Hot air ballon in Luxor. I sent Ahmad a deposit through Western Union without even choosing an itinerary. I sent him an email of the dates and what I wanted to see. He sent me a tailor made itinerary that suited my reqirements. Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan including Abu Simbel and Cairo. His prices were reasonable compared to some of his competitors. Once we agreed the itinerary, he emailed me the flight E Tickets from Aswan to Cairo, Cairo Hurghada and I had only paid a small deposit, such was a trust of someone I had never met. I even asked him if he wanted anything from here. He sent me a list of 2 small things he wanted which I bought for him. The remaining of the money was to be paid once our tour Started in Luxor. I had booked a private transfer from Hurghada airport to our hotel in Makadi bay with Thomas Cook. Ahmad told my to get a refund from Thomas Cook £80 as he would arrange the transfers for free.
We arrived in Hurghada on 31st July and someone was waiting for us. He directed us to the visa section, within minutes we collected our luggage and were directed to our Taxi to our hotel makadi without any hassle. We spent a few days relaxing and soaking up the sun before the Nile Cruise. On day one we were picked up from our hotel at 8.00 am for a 4hr drive to Luxor through the dessert. Our driver Ahamed was very nice and professional. Ahamad from ETP was always in contact with the driver. we stopped half way for some refreshments. By midday we were in Luxor, our guide Mahmoud was waiting for us outside our cruise ship MS Concerto 5 star Deluxe. He checked us in and said he will be back at 3pm to start the site tour. Meanwhile we relaxed and had a bite to eat and took a tour to this magnificant luxury boat. You felt like a King and the crew were amazing. Mahmoud turned up at 3 to start our tour we returned in the evening after watching the sound & Light in the Temple of Karnak. The next morning left at 3.30am to do our Hot air Balloon over Luxor. What a experience. We than had breakfast at the Temple of Hutcheap Sut than the Valley of the Kings etc. Our guide Mahmoud had a lot of knowledge and spoke very good English. Than we returned to the boat to start sailing.
The views and the sunset are breath taking and our guide was always giving us a history tour. After various stops and tours. We docked at the last stop Aswan, what a beautiful city. The highlight of the trip was Abu Simbel. A 3hr drive. The temple and Lake Nasser were breathtaking. The drivers were a mixture of Rally or F1 drivers, not for the faint hearted. We also did a trip to the Nubian village. The boot ride and sunset will take your breath away. The next morning we flew to Cairo from Aswan. Ahamad the owner of ETP was waiting for us and to our surprise, he was also our tour guide for the day. Could not have asked more. We started with the Giza Pyramids and Ahmad took some beautiful photos with my phone. The Lunch was in a beautiful restaurant over looking the Pyramids. We Visted the museum and than the famous Khan el Khalili Bazaar. Ahmad bargained for us as we wanted to do some shopping, but time was against us as we had to catch the flight back to Hurghada. But before we flew Ahmad knew I liked food, so he took us first to the oldest coffeeshop in the Bazaar. Than took us for dinner and we had the famous Hamman dish. Stuffed pigeon. Than sadly we were on our way to the airport.
We said our farewell to Ahmad and boarded the flight back to Hurghada. I sincerely want to thank Ahmad for making our experience once in a life time as also a special thank you to our guide and friend Mahmoud and also to all the drivers who waited for us in the scorching heat. We take beautiful memories with us. If you have read my review and are thinking about travelling to Egypt. Than Book now as Egypt is safe and in much need of tourism. You won’t be disappointed with Egypt Tours Portal, Very professional and caters for all budgets.
Thank you Ahmad & Mahmoud. you will always be in our hearts.
