Erected between 298 and 303 AD, this monumental structure was dedicated to Emperor Diocletian and remains one of the largest Roman triumphal columns ever built outside Rome, standing proudly as a symbol of Alexandria’s classical heritage.

Qaitbay Citadel

The epic Qaitbay Citadel is a historic fortress overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Constructed between 1477 and 1479 AD during the Mamluk period, the citadel was built using stones taken from the ruins of the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World that once stood on this very site. Jerash

Jerash

Jerash is a heavenly wonder that is located about 48 kilometers north of Amman, is celebrated as one of the best-preserved Roman cities outside Italy, often called the “Pompeii of the East.” Originally founded during the 4th century BC under Greek influence and later flourishing under Roman rule, Jerash reveals a magnificent collection of ruins including temples, baths, colonnaded streets, theaters, and triumphal arches. These remarkably intact remains illustrate the grandeur of Roman urban planning and the cultural blending that shaped this historic city.

Hippodrome of Jerash

Hippodrome of Jerash

The Jerash Hippodrome is a divine marvel that was once the center of public entertainment in the ancient city. Stretching roughly 250 meters and capable of holding up to 15,000 spectators, this arena hosted dramatic chariot races, athletic competitions, and grand spectacles that energized Roman society. Today, visitors can walk through the structure and even witness reenactments that recreate the excitement of these ancient events.

Temple of Artemis

Temple of Artemis

The Temple of Artemis is a mesmerizing archaeological marvel that was built during the 2nd century AD, stands as one of Jerash’s most striking monuments. Dedicated to the goddess Artemis, protector of the city, the temple features towering Corinthian columns and beautifully carved architectural details that reflect both the wealth and spiritual devotion of Roman-era Jerash. Its elevated position and commanding design make it one of the city’s most memorable sights.

Ajloun Castle

The highlight here is the Ajloun Castle, a powerful fortress constructed in 1184 AD by the general Izz al-Din Usama during the Ayyubid period. Built to defend the region against Crusader incursions and to protect key trade routes, the castle stands as a remarkable example of medieval Islamic military architecture. Nearby, the Ajloun Forest Reserve adds natural beauty to the region with its wildlife, hiking trails, and panoramic views.

You will begin your morning with breakfast at your hotel in Amman, then set out with your private driver and expert guide toward the historic city of Madaba, located about 30 kilometers southwest of the capital. Covering nearly 39.44 km², Madaba is celebrated for its remarkable collection of archaeological treasures spanning the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, and early Islamic periods, making it one of Jordan’s most culturally rich destinations. Your exploration begins with:

St. George’s Church

St. George’s Church

The Greek Orthodox Church of St. George in Madaba is home to the renowned 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land. This extraordinary artwork, composed of over two million tiny tesserae and accompanied by 157 Greek inscriptions, represents the oldest surviving cartographic depiction of Palestine. Although the church itself dates to the 19th century, the mosaic, discovered in 1884 AD, offers invaluable insight into Byzantine-era geography, illustrating ancient cities, roads, rivers, and sacred locations including Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and the Jordan River.

Mount Nebo

Mount Nebo

The sacred summit of Mount Nebo is an ethereal marvel rising approximately 700 meters (2,300 ft) above sea level. According to biblical tradition, this is the place where Prophet Moses viewed the Promised Land before his death. From the mount’s panoramic viewpoint, visitors can admire sweeping vistas across the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and even distant Jerusalem on clear days. The site also preserves significant archaeological remains, including a 4th-century monastery and a Byzantine church decorated with intricate mosaics, reflecting centuries of pilgrimage and devotion.

The Dead Sea

The Dead Sea

The Dead Sea is an ethereal creation known to be one of the world’s most extraordinary natural wonders. Situated about 430 meters (1,412 ft) below sea level, it marks the lowest land elevation on Earth. This hypersaline lake reaches depths of approximately 304 meters (997 ft) and is famous for its mineral-rich waters and therapeutic mud. Valued since antiquity, the Dead Sea provided resources such as asphalt and potash, used historically in mummification and agriculture, and remains renowned today as one of the earliest known natural health resorts.

Later, travel south to the legendary city of Petra, where you will check in to your hotel and relax for the evening, preparing for the unforgettable exploration of this ancient Nabataean wonder the following day.

Meals Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Soft Drinks
Accommodation Petra Hotel

You will begin your morning with breakfast at your hotel in Petra, then check out and meet your private driver and expert guide to begin an unforgettable discovery of one of the world’s most remarkable archaeological wonders.

Petra

Petra

Petra, famously known as the Rose-Red City, once flourished as the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom from around the 4th century BC. Covering roughly 264 km² (102 sq mi) and standing at an elevation of about 810 meters (2,657 ft), this UNESCO World Heritage Site is celebrated for its extraordinary monuments carved directly into vibrant sandstone cliffs. Highlights include Al Khazneh (the Treasury), the Royal Tombs, the Nabataean Theatre, Qasr al-Bint Temple, and Ad Deir (the Monastery), landmarks that helped secure Petra’s place among the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Al Khazneh Temple

Al Khazneh Temple

Al Khazneh, or the Treasury, is one of Petra’s most iconic monuments that enchanted the world with divine visions of marvels. Carved into the rose-colored rock during the 1st century AD under King Aretas IV, this magnificent façade appears dramatically at the end of the narrow 1.2-kilometer Siq canyon. Its elaborate columns, sculptures, and refined symmetry reveal the remarkable artistry and engineering mastery of the Nabataeans. The monument has also achieved global recognition through appearances in films such as Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Royal Tombs Of Petra

Royal Tombs Of Petra

The majestic Royal Tombs are a group of monumental burial chambers carved high into Petra’s eastern cliffs. Among the most famous are the Urn Tomb, Silk Tomb, Corinthian Tomb, and Palace Tomb, primarily dating to the 1st century AD. These elaborate mausoleums likely served as final resting places for Nabataean rulers and elite figures, showcasing sophisticated architectural styles and intricate stonework that reflect the power and prestige of this ancient civilization.

Theatre Of Petra

Theatre Of Petra

The Great Theatre of Petra is a captivating marvel that was carved by the Nabataeans in the early 1st century AD and later expanded by the Romans following their annexation of the kingdom in 106 AD. With seating for nearly 7,000 spectators, the theatre represents a remarkable fusion of Nabataean craftsmanship and classical Greco-Roman design, making it one of the most striking architectural achievements in the city.

Qasr al-Bint

Qasr al-Bint

Qasr al-Bint is an archaeological wonder that became one of Petra’s most significant religious temples. Constructed between 30 BC and 40 AD, it is unique because it is a freestanding temple rather than a rock-cut monument. Dedicated to Nabataean deities, the structure has survived centuries of earthquakes and natural erosion, providing valuable insight into the architectural ingenuity and spiritual traditions of the Nabataeans.

Dinner Time

Dinner Time

After exploring Petra’s extraordinary monuments, continue your journey south toward the spectacular desert landscape of Wadi Rum, where dinner awaits.

Wadi Rum

Wadi Rum

Wadi Rum is a golden realm of miraculous sands, which are located in southern Jordan, spans nearly 721 km² (278 sq mi) and rises to elevations of approximately 1,750 meters (5,740 ft). This vast desert wilderness is characterized by towering sandstone mountains, sweeping red sand dunes, and dramatic granite formations, and has long been home to the Zalabieh Bedouin community. Its otherworldly scenery has served as the setting for many well-known films, including Lawrence of Arabia, The Martian, John Wick 4, Aladdin, Star Wars, Rogue One, and Dune.

While exploring the desert, you may encounter ancient petroglyphs carved into rock walls dating back to the 8th century BC. Depending on time, your adventure may include exploration by jeep, camel, or on foot, with visits to remarkable landmarks such as Lawrence Spring, Little Bridge, Khazali Canyon, and the impressive Burdah Arch.

"We would like to share our wonderful experience with Egypt Tours Portal. From the very first quote to our final airport drop-off, we were impressed by the professionalism, organization, and excellent communication from Walaa and the entire team. Our tour guides in both Luxor (“Habibi” was the best!) and Cairo were incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and passionate about sharing Egypt’s history and treasures with us. We especially appreciated how thoughtfully the itinerary was planned — allowing us time to rest in the afternoons, scheduling visits during the cooler hours, and remaining flexible to accommodate our needs. Everything was smooth, well-organized, and made our trip truly memorable. We wholeheartedly recommend Egypt Tours Portal to anyone looking to discover the incredible history, culture, and wonders Egypt has to offer."

"We had an outstanding time touring Luxor with our guide, Essra. She was knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly kind throughout the entire experience. Her explanations of Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon brought Egypt's history to life. What really set her apart was her thoughtfulness. She made sure we stayed comfortable in the heat, surprising us with water and refreshments. She also took us to an excellent local restaurant that we never would have found on our own. Her attention to detail, genuine care, and passion for sharing Egypt made this one of the highlights of our trip. We highly recommend her to anyone visiting Luxor. On another note, the drivers we had each day were great. So professional, always on time and personable."

"The best experience of my lifetime! Nour, the tour guide was absolutely amazing! Went over and beyond thinking about every little thing. I had a mishap and Egypt Air overbooked my flight and bumped me to a later flight causing me to miss an entire day of activities. Nour made sure I got to do every single thing I missed that first day. But that’s not all: his knowledge of old Egypt is unparalleled, he truly brings Egypt (Aswan Luxor) alive. I’ve traveled all over the world and met many tour guides: Nour stands apart from all of them. He’s also considerate, caring and genuinely wants his guests to enjoy the trip and learn the most about the incredible history of Egypt. He’s also funny and genuinely great to be around. Please, do yourself a favor when booking a trip in Upper Egypt and ask for Nour. Hands down the best guide ever!"

"Our experience in Egypt, especially in Luxor and Aswan, was truly unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to our incredible guide Omar. We cannot recommend him highly enough. From the moment we met him, it was clear that he was exceptionally knowledgeable, professional, and deeply passionate about Egyptian history and culture. What made our tour extraordinary was that our guide is not only a master’s in Egyptology but is also currently pursuing a PhD in Egyptology. His depth of knowledge was absolutely remarkable. He is also very creative and artistic. Every temple, tomb, monument, and historical site came alive through his explanations. He did not simply recite facts, he explained the historical context, symbolism, religious beliefs, architecture, and fascinating stories behind everything we saw. It truly felt like we were traveling through ancient Egypt with a real scholar and expert by our side. He brought ancient Egyptian history to life by assigning us the roles of Egyptian gods and legendary heroes. Through these interactive mini-plays, we were able to experience, understand, and truly connect with the stories he shared. In Luxor, visiting Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings, and Hatshepsut Temple became an unforgettable educational and emotional experience because of the way he explained the history in such an engaging and easy-to-understand manner. In Aswan, his insights about Philae Temple, Nubian history, and ancient Egyptian civilization added so much depth to our trip. He answered every question thoughtfully and with incredible detail, and you could genuinely feel his passion for Egyptology. Beyond his academic expertise, he was one of the kindest and most caring people we met during our travels. He constantly made sure we were comfortable, safe, hydrated, and enjoying ourselves. He was patient, attentive, organized, and always willing to help with anything we needed. His warm personality and kindness made us feel welcomed not just as tourists, but as friends. He also paced the tours perfectly, allowing us enough time to truly appreciate each site without ever feeling rushed. His professionalism, friendliness, and genuine care created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the trip. Thanks to him, our visit to Egypt became far more than a vacation. It became an unforgettable journey into history and culture. If you are planning to visit Luxor, Aswan, or anywhere in Egypt, choosing this guide will be one of the best decisions you can make. He is truly exceptional, and we feel incredibly lucky to have had him as our guide. Thank you again for such an amazing experience. We will never forget it. Marianna and Khris"

"We had a wonderful experience with the 5 day cruise. The price is wry reasonable. The best part is that the visits are done in very small numbers with a guide. It is almost like having a private guide. The food was good with lots of variety and all the staff members are very friendly and helpful. "We just returned home from an incredible trip to Egypt, and we cannot say enough good things about Egypt Tours. From the moment we booked our trip until the day we flew home, their communication, organization, and attention to detail were outstanding. Our adventure began in Cairo, where we were warmly welcomed at the airport by our guide, Abdulrahman Mosbah. He immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease, and our Nile River sunset cruise was the perfect introduction to Egypt. Abdul’s warm personality and infectious enthusiasm made our first day both fun and memorable. The following day, we toured with Reda Elgendy, who brought the pyramids to life with fascinating stories and historical insights. Seeing the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) was truly breathtaking and a highlight of our time in Cairo. In Aswan, we were greeted at the airport by Ahmed Haggag, who guided us over the next two days. Ahmed was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough in his explanations, and always kept us entertained with his great sense of humor. We learned so much while enjoying every moment of our time with him. Our final stop was Luxor, where we met Ghada Kamel. Saving the best for last, Ghada was absolutely exceptional. Her passion for Egypt’s history and culture made our visits to the temples and the Valley of the Kings unforgettable. She was engaging, informative, and truly outstanding. This trip exceeded all of our expectations. Not only did we experience some of the world’s most amazing historical sites, but each of our guides also shared valuable insights into Egyptian culture and daily life. We returned home with wonderful memories, a deeper appreciation for Egypt, and gratitude for the amazing team at Egypt Tours. We highly recommend Egypt Tours to anyone planning a trip to Egypt. His positive attitude, passion for Egypt’s history and culture, and incredible patience made all the difference throughout our stay in Cairo. Ahmed brought every site to life with fascinating explanations and was always attentive to our needs, making the experience enjoyable for both adults and children. We especially recommend him for visits to Saqqara and the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), where his deep knowledge and enthusiasm greatly enhanced our understanding and appreciation of these extraordinary places. Without any hesitation, we highly recommend Ahmed Refaat to anyone visiting Egypt. Thank you again for helping create such wonderful memories for our family!"
