Since the Hellenistic period in the Greco-roman empire, Alexandria has always been the pearl of the Mediterranean. The city was created by Alexander the Great in 332 BC along the coastal line of the Mediterranean Sea in the north-central coast of Egypt for the purpose of transmitting the Hellenic culture & teachings to the rest of the Mediterranean region where it soon becomes the capital of Egypt.

It is the home of two wonders of the ancient world, the ancient lighthouse of Alexandria which was destroyed by earthquakes in 1323 and on the same location lies the citadel of Qaitbay which rose in 1477 AD to be a powerful fortress against the Ottoman Empire. The second wonder is the ancient Library of Alexandria which once contained millions of scrolls but was destroyed possibly in 48 BC, today a new library by the name of Bibliotheca Alexandria was constructed to keep the spirit of the original ancient library.

The city also holds the great pillar of Pompey from the Roman Period in 297 AD is the largest of its kind outside of Rome. Alexandria also holds the extraordinary catacombs one of the middle ages Seven Wonders of the World which is a famous Roman burial chamber from the 2nd to the 4th century which mixes Roman and Egyptian art in the most spectacular manner.

Luxor has gained the name “The City of Hundred Doors” as each door leads to different heaven, it is located in Upper Egypt in the lands of “Thebes” and used to be the capital of the Middle Kingdom and the New Kingdom, it holds the biggest man-made religious temple in the world known as El-Karnak Temple which is located at the center of the city and is dedicated to the holy trinity of Amon, Mut, and Khonsu.

The city is guarded by the Colossi of Memnon which belongs to Amenhotep III in the 18th dynasty. The temple of Luxor is the second largest temple after EL-Karnak temple and was built by Amenhotep II & Ramses II to hold the festival of Opet. The temple of Queen Hatshepsut is one of the most famous temples in the world to bring a perfect example of the pure classical architectural style.

The phenomenal heavenly valley of the kings is located in the heart of a mountain and holds more than 63 tombs, inside the valley, there are 20 royal tombs from the New Kingdom like the Ramsess dynasty, Tutankhamun, Amenhotep the first, Thutmose, and many others.

In the new Kingdom (1550-1070) Queen Hatshepsut was responsible for the creation of the Unfinished Obelisk which showcases many clues about the construction process of the obelisk through the history of ancient Egypt.

The great two temples temple of Abu Simbel were built in 1244 B.C by Ramses the great to immortalize his heritage and his love for his wife Nefertari. Many temples were built in the Greco-roman to reflect the deeply religious nature like The Philae Temple in 696 BC to the worship the Goddess Isis the Wife of Osiris during the Greco-Roman period. in 237 BC, the temple of the Sky God Hours Edfu temple was created in the same location where the great battle against his the Evil uncle God Set took place.

Also in the Greco-roman period one, the unique double temple of Kom Ombo was built between 332 and 395 BC that pay respects to the crocodile god Sobek of the Nile, the city of Aswan is able to construct the Aswan high dam to advance into the modern era but the temple was the reason for the close destruction of Abu Simbel and Philae temple if it wasn’t for the UNESCO in the mid-60s.
