Exploring Cairo!

Our two days exploring Cairo with Ismael nickname Smile were amazing. Our visits to the Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum were the top highlights of the tour and we got much background information and other stories from our guide.
He took photos of us and always took care that we had enough time for pictures and to explore on our own.
The organizer Egypt Tours Portal is very helpful with all questions right away via email or phone. Thanks for the great experience.

great day trips. history, street food, and shopping

I went on a one week trip to Egypt with two friends. We are a group of three women who have never been to Egypt before and were very grateful for a guide during our two days in Cairo. Our tour guide Amani was great! So informative, friendly, and patient. She guided us through Islamic Cairo, Coptic Cairo, the Giza Pyramids, and shopping. We learned a ton and went to some very unique shops and food stands. Thanks for a great experience!.

Hurghada to Cairo 1 Night Trip
A recent trip to Hurghada meant we could not go without a trip to Cairo and check out one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world.
Booked the private trip for two through email on the back of the reviews and website, paid the deposit through PayPal and the rest in person. This was very reassuring!
We were picked up at our hotel at 4 am, and flew to Cairo at 05.30 landing an hour later. EgyptAir was better than expected.

On arrival, Reham was waiting for us – the perfect tour guide and Egyptologist. She was very welcoming, warm and friendly despite it being Ramadan and very hot.
Reham and the private driver stayed with us the two days and showed us the crazy ways of Cairo. The city is mad and the driving…..an experience. Albeit we both felt very safe and comfortable.
Reham took us to see ancient tombs, the first Pyramid built, and then, of course, the Great Pyramid itself along with the other two. Her knowledge of Ancient Egypt was impressive.
We visited in the morning and thankfully there were very limited tourists.
We went inside the Great Pyramid and can say that was an experience we will never forget. Very much a highlight and a must. You’ll regret being in Giza and not going in. I won’t spoil it with more info.

We ate lunch at a typical Egyptian Restaurant and then of to our hotel in Cairo for the afternoon and night in Tahrir Square.
The next day Reham collected us from our hotel and took us to the Egyptian Museum. What a great few hours there. Many beautiful exhibits, including the contents of The Boy Kings tomb (Tutankhamen), his 11kg solid gold mask, his sarcophagus, and Rameses II mummy to name a few.
Again Reham being so knowledgeable and it being a private tour, we were shown the main artifacts. Brilliant this was.
Back to our hotel to check out and then a trip to the Khan El Khalili Bazaar (built 970 A.D) for some shopping and bartering!
Next lunch by the Nile and followed by a trip to Amr Ibn Alas Mosque (oldest Mosque built in Africa dating 642 A.D.), Hanging Church (built 3rd Century A.D.), and finally Ben Ezra Synagogue ( 4th Century A.D.).
This concluded our trip to Cairo and we were next taken to the airport for our flight back to Hurghada at 17.45.
Quick pointers – take plenty of cash and preferably small bills. Albeit the tour included all entrance fees and lunch/breakfast, hotel, when visiting sites there are always things to spend money on or tipping to be done to take photos. This is nothing to do with Egypt Tour Portals. We had around 2,000 Egyptian Pounds in cash and it just about covered it all.
The main extra cost was 300 per person for entering the Great Pyramid and again to see the mummies in the Museum.
Our trip was awesome and unforgettable and mainly due to the experience we had with Reham and the driver (can’t recall the spelling ).
Again, thank you so much Reham and look forward to welcoming you to London.

2 Days 1 Night Cairo & Giza Tour
Ismael was our tour guide for our Cairo & Giza sight seeing trip. He’s very professional and always helpful in answering all our queries. He also has great knowledge about Ancient Egypt history that makes us appreciate even more all the sites (Pyramids and Sphinx) and artifacts that we saw at National Museum.
We really had a wonderful time during our short visit in Cairo. Thank you Ismael for making our trip hassle-free and memorable. Will definitely recommend you to my friends who is also planning to visit Egypt. I hope your boss can read this review as you truly deserve a raise.
Until we meet again! Inshallah

Amazing 2 day trip of a lifetime!
We are mother and daughter and we visited Egypt together. We did this trip and were bowled over by the whole thing! We were taken to the airport from our hotel, flew to Cairo and were met at the airport by a lovely young lady guide called Reham. She was absolutely brilliant and along with Boudy the driver they made an excellent team. We mentioned wanting to try falafels and they immediately found a roadside place and got us some to eat for breakfast! We had coffees, lunches and saw all the sights. They were so kind and made it fun for us as well as interesting. They packed as much in as possible. The night’s stay was in the Meridian by the pyramids so we had evening drinks and food in the hotel watching the sunlight fade on this wonder of the world!
The tour ended as they dropped us back at the airport and then even though our flight was delayed the man at Hurghada was still there waiting to drop us back at our hotel.
Thank you so much!

“Cairo Trip”
Please use this company to book your tours in Cairo. We were staying in Hurghada & organised a two day trip to Cairo while at home. The company did all we expected & more. The guide Ahmad & our driver Nader were wonderful nothing was to much trouble & they looked after us superbly. We had an itinerary which we altered & expanded once we arrived to suit our requirements. The cost included everything & was excellent value for money. We will use them again next time we visit & would highly recommend them.

“Fantastic 2 day trip by air to Cairo”
We booked a 2 day trip to Cairo from Hurghada after researching on this site. Overall the trip was excellent. Our guide Hador was really knowledgeable and friendly and was happy to be flexible with schedules etc. Because we chose to go by air (didnt fancy the 5hr coach journey) we had plenty of time to see all the main attractions and could have spent much longer at some than we actually did. The only negative part of the trip was that our “5 star hotel” had 3 star rooms, albeit the service and attention more than made up for it. I dont have a bad word to say about this company or their itinerary, however there were a couple of negatives – You are asked to “tip” by the locals for everything, and if they do not feel you have “tipped” enough they WILL argue with you to try and extract more. Always get a cost upfront and be advised that nothing is free. We took a camel ride past the pyramids of Giza with the camels owners riding a horse. On the return journey he asked if I would like to swap so I take the horse and he took the camel which we did, and at the end they demanded extra money for the “additional” horse ride. The initial price of the camel ride was 600 egyptian pounds but we ended up paying 1,000 with extras and “tips”! (approx £100 on the day for a 30 min camel ride for 3 people) On another occasion we visited a tomb where photo’s were not permitted but once inside all the locals encouraged us to take pictures so that they could then demand money (we didn’t fall for that one) Also be aware Cairo is not pretty – its filthy, the rivers are overflowing with refuse as are the majority of the streets in most areas. The traffic and driving can only be described as mental – we witnessed 3 accidents in 1 day – in fact the only tip I was happy to give which wasnt to our guide (thanks again Hador) was to our driver for managing to keep us alive for 48 hours

The 2 day tour of Cairo was arranged at the suggestion of Egypt Tours to meet our need to visit Cairo and see the History and Culture of the Region. In the morning were picked up at our Hotel in Hurghada and flown to Cairo where we met our Tour guide Rudi.We were taxied everywhere by Mohamad.
The tour in the morning covered the Pyramids at Giza,Cheops,Chephren and Mykerinus,we also visited the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple..lunch was at a local restaurant prior to visiting the Step Pyramid of Zoser dating back to the 3rd dynasty (2630 BC)…We were then taken to our Hotel Mercure Le Spynx to freshen up ready for our evening dinner show on a river Cruiser, which included a Egyption entertainment.
Day 2 started at a pick up from the Hotel after a lovely breakfast with a visit to the Egyption Museum with Artifacts featured from the 5000 yrs of Pharonic rule in Egypt.
The precious collect of some 250,000 items included an exhibit of rare artifacts from the collection dedicated to Tutankhamen of rare gold jewelry and treasure discovered by Howard Carter in 1920..lunch was again arranged on the Nile cruiser prior to proceeding to the Salah el din Citadel Albaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali in the 1800,s
We were then taken to visit Old Cairo where we saw the Roman fortress and the hanging church also the St Sergius church believed to have sheltered the holy family.

All in all this trip more than met our needs and expectations to see the History and Culture of the region and the Tour guide representing Egypt Tours was excellant,he made us feel welcome, safe and informed us of everything we needed to know.
A very interesting and good value tour of Cairo.
