Giza Pyramids Complex

The Giza Pyramids Complex is one of the world's most recognized archaeological spots on the planet. It has acted as a true reflection of the greatness of the ancient Egyptian civilization for the last 4500 years. The complex consists of three main pyramids each one under the name of King Kharefre, Khufu, and Menkaure; six little pyramids; the sole guardian of Egypt, the great Sphinx, and the immortality maker, the valley temple.

The Great Pyramid

The Great pyramid of Khufu is the closest thing to the heavens, the oldest and last remaining intact wonder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The pyramid stands at a height of 147 m (481 ft), as it was constructed in 2580 BC in only 20 years using 2,300,000 pieces of limestone each weighing 2.5 tons and a workforce of 100,000 free skilled workers, which made it the tallest building in the world for 3800 years until Lincoln Cathedral, England, was constructed in 1311. The pyramid started the golden age of construction in Ancient Egypt which still remains a great number of visitors from all over the world because its mysterious origin and pursuit that still baffle scientists.

The Great Sphinx

The great Sphinx is the world's greatest and oldest statue, it has the shape of a mythical creature called the sphinx that has the body of a lion and the head of a man which is probably shaped after King Khafre's head as a symbol of wisdom and might. It is believed it was built in Egypt's old kingdom (2686 2134 BC) called "Hor-em-akhet," which means "Horus of the Horizon," but today the Egyptians call it Abu Al-Hawl, which means The Father of Terror in Arabic. It is about 73m long and around 20m high, and was completely carved out of single limestone rock. There are a lot of unanswered questions & mysteries still surrounding the sphinx-like mysterious nose.

The Valley Temple

The Valley Temple was constructed in the Old Kingdom (2686 2134 BC), it's the place where the Mummification process took place. It is one of the best-preserved structures of the ancient Egyptian civilization, made entirely from red limestone and granite, and holds amazing diorite statues of King Chephren.

Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa

The Catacombs are a unique archaeological spot in all of Egypt as it acts as a beautiful piece of art symbolizing the fusion of the artistic elements of the Hellenistic and Roman culture with the ancient Egyptian Pharaonic design in the ultimate breathtaking fashion. It was built as a necropolis in the 2nd century AD and holds a great number of Greek and Roman artifacts and decoration between its three-level stories which made it gain the title of one of the seven wonders of the Middle Ages.

Pompey's Pillar

Pompey's Pillar is a symbol of Roman glory, as it is the largest monolithic column ever built outside of Rome. It was named Pompey's Pillar because in the Middle Ages, the Crusaders believed that the remains of the great Roman general Pompey were located in a pot at the very top of the pillar. It stands at a height of 28 m and is 2.7 m wide. On its western upper side lies a Greek inscription dedicated to Emperor Diocletian.

Qaitbay Citadel

Qaitbey Citadel is a beautiful memory from ancient times that holds the immortal illuminating spirit of the Alexandria Lighthouse. It was constructed in 1477 by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf Al-din Qa'it Bay on the same site that held the legendary lighthouse of Alexandria, using the stones salvaged from the wrecked lighthouse that served as the third longest surviving ancient wonder until its destruction by a series of earthquakes between 956 AD and 1323 AD. The citadel has some incredible designs from the Islamic era.

Alexandria Library is an echo from the past which acts as a commemoration of the ancient Alexandria library; it is one of the biggest and most advanced libraries in the world. It contains the world's sixth-largest Francophone library in the world. it is a trilingual library containing books in Arabic, English, and French, plus it holds the largest depository of French books in North Africa and the Middle East, marvelous art galleries, plus a collection of some of the rarest collections of books on the planet.

Salah El Din Citadel

Salah El-Din Citadel, a.k.a Cairo Citadel, represents the guardian spirit that has watched over the city for more than 800 years. It towers over the entire city since its construction in 1182 AD by the great conqueror Salah El-Din; it served as the center of rule and a powerful fortress against foreign invaders like the crusaders & Napoleon's French troops. The Cairo Citadel became the headquarters of the government for more than 700 years; inside the citadel lie some museums and beautiful buildings.

Mohamed Ali Mosque

Mohamed Ali Mosque is known as the alabaster mosque due to its unique design and the extensive use of marble. It was built between 1830 and 1848 AD to be a replica of the blue mosque in Istanbul, so it can be seen as a symbol of independence and freedom against the Ottoman Empire. The mosque is truly captivating with its Ottoman style, the architecture of French Rococo with enchanting finishes of ornate red, green, and gold, and a great, enchanting dome. It contains an ornate brass clock, a gift from King Louis Philippe of France to Muhammad Ali in 1845 in exchange for an obelisk that stands in Concorde Square in Paris.

Al Muizz Street

The mythical Al-Mu’izz Street came to be in the Fatimid Dynasty as it was constructed in 969 AD but expanded later on to become the biggest open-air museum for Islamic monuments on earth, showcasing the religious, commercial, and defensive aspects of Cairo, which was added in 1979 to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Khan El Khalili Bazaar

The Khan El Khalili Bazaar is where the magic happens; it is the oldest and most active street in the Middle East, which became known as the golden brick road of the Middle East. The street dates to 970 AD and holds phenomenal Islamic architecture and decorations, plus it remains very busy till today as it contains everything a traveler might dream of, plus all the wonderful cafes and shops that date back to countless generations.
