Giza Pyramids Complex

The Great Pyramid

The Great Pyramid of King Khufu (2609 BC - 2584 BC), conceived in 2570 BC by his chief architect and vizier Hemiunu. The Great Pyramid was constructed over years by 400,000 free skilled workers working in shifts, the pyramid reached a height of 147 meters using 2.3 million limestone blocks with a combined weight of nearly 6 million tons. Within its colossal mass lie the Queen’s Chamber, King’s Chamber, Grand Gallery, and other sophisticated architectural elements that continue to amaze scholars and visitors alike.

The Great Sphinx

The great Sphinx also known as Horus of the Horizon, has guarded the plateau since the reign of King Khafre (2558–2532 BC). Measuring 73 meters in length, 19 meters in width, and 20 meters in height, it combines the face of the king with the body of a lion, symbolizing wisdom and strength. Between its paws rests the Dream Stela of Thutmose IV, placed there in 1401 BC, recounting the legendary tale of divine kingship.

The Valley Temple

The golden mortuary valley temple of the 4th dynasty is able to uncover the mythical history behind the purification and the mummification process of the ancient Egyptians, which offers valuable insight into Egyptian funerary beliefs and sacred practices.

The Grand Egyptian Museum

The Grand Egyptian Museum is a modern architectural landmark that cost a billion dollars to make, which makes it aligned with the pyramids and spans nearly 490,000 square meters. This extraordinary institution presents 5,000 years of Egyptian history and houses one of the Middle East’s largest conservation centers, along with research and educational facilities. Highlights include the Hanging Obelisk, the 11-meter colossus of Ramses II, and the complete collection of over 5,000 artifacts from King Tutankhamun’s tomb.

Saqqara Step Pyramid

The illuminating six steps Saqqara Step Pyramid, the world’s earliest large-scale stone structure. Commissioned by Pharaoh Djoser (2649–2611 BC) and designed by the brilliant architect Imhotep, this six-tiered pyramid rises 62 meters high and introduced the first complete pyramid complex, marking a turning point in architectural history.

Finally, we head to the airport to catch your flight to Aswan and check into your hotel to spend the overnight.

The High Dam

The great Aswan High Dam is a marvelous milestone of modern engineering, completed between 1960 and 1970, and it played a vital role in Egypt’s industrial development. By controlling the Nile’s floodwaters and generating hydroelectric power, the dam reshaped the nation’s economy, agriculture, and daily life, standing today as a symbol of progress and modernization.

The Unfinished Obelisk

The Unfinished Obelisk was destined to pierce the skies as the biggest obelisk in existence, but was commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC). Intended to stand at the entrance of Karnak Temple, this colossal monument was abandoned when cracks appeared during its carving. Resting in its original quarry, it offers a rare and revealing glimpse into ancient Egyptian stone-working techniques.

Philae Temple

The powerful Philae temple is a vision of beauty, which was dedicated to Isis, the goddess of motherhood and magic, that was built in 280 BC during the reign of Ptolemy II. The temple vividly recounts the timeless Myth of Osiris, one of humanity’s oldest sacred narratives. To save it from rising waters, the entire complex was relocated to Agilkia Island during the UNESCO Nubia Campaign of the 1960s–1970s, preserving its beauty for future generations.

Kom Ombo Temple

The Kom Ombo temple, often called the Hill of Gold, is unique in all of Egypt for its perfectly symmetrical double design. It was made between 180 BC and 47 BC, the complex consists of two parallel temples with twin entrances, dual hypostyle halls, and matching sanctuaries. One side is dedicated to Haroeris (Horus the Elder), while the other honors Sobek, the crocodile god of the Nile. Beyond its striking architecture, Kom Ombo preserves valuable reliefs that reveal remarkable insights into the medical knowledge and astronomical understanding of ancient Egyptian civilization.

Edfu temple

The magnificant Edfu temple of Horus, "the sky-falcon god of Victory and Divine Protection", came into existence between 237 BC and 57 BC during the Greco-Roman era, making it one of the final great temples built in ancient Egypt, showcasing the long battle between Horus and Set. Exceptionally well preserved, the temple is adorned with remarkable reliefs and inscriptions that vividly record the ancient Egyptian language, religious beliefs, and some of the most celebrated mythological stories ever told. 

Valley of the Kings

The Valley of the Kings was carved deep into the heart of a sacred mountain to safeguard the tombs of the rulers of the 18th, 19th, and 20th Dynasties of the New Kingdom (1570–1050 BC). This royal necropolis contains 63 richly decorated tombs, adorned with vivid scenes and inscriptions belonging to great pharaohs such as Tutankhamen, Hatshepsut, Seti I, Ramses II, and many others, offering extraordinary insight into royal beliefs about the afterlife. 

Hatshepsut Temple

Hatshepsut Temple is one of the most beautiful & best preserved of all of the Ancient Egyptian temples. The magnificent Hatshepsut temple is one of the most elegant and best-preserved temples in Egypt. Designed on three grand terraces connected by two broad central ramps, the temple rises harmoniously from the desert floor. Known as the Shining House of Amun, it was commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut (1507–1458 BC) and carved into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari in 1479 BC over a period of 15 years, standing today as a timeless symbol of architectural brilliance, power, and refinement.

Colossi of Memnon

The legendary Colossi of Memnon are glorious wonders that have the shape of colossal statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III (1386–1349 BC), which were constructed in 1350 BC. These massive figures were originally carved in Cairo and transported 700 meters to Luxor to guard the now-ruined mortuary temple of Amenhotep II. Rebuilt multiple times, the statues became famous during the Greco-Roman period for the mysterious “vocal phenomenon.” Intricate reliefs of the Nile god Hapi and his family are carved along their sides.

Karnak Temple

The Astral Karnak temple complex has been the most sacred religious center in Egypt for over 1,500 years. Known in ancient times as Pr-Imn (House of Amun), it served as the principal place of worship for the Theban Triad: Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Construction spanned from the Middle Kingdom through the Greco-Roman period (2000 BC–30 BC) across 247 acres, featuring monumental highlights such as the Avenue of Sphinxes, the colossal Great Hypostyle Hall, and countless sanctuaries, pylons, and chapels that together form one of the greatest religious complexes ever built.

Aït Ben Haddou

Aït Ben Haddou is Morocco’s most iconic ksar (fortified village), which is filled with natural beauty and mythical wonder. It is celebrated for its remarkable preservation and dramatic setting, making it one of the most atmospheric heritage sites in Morocco and a powerful window into pre-modern life on the edge of the desert. It was built from sun-baked earth and clay in the traditional architecture of the country’s south. Set along historic caravan routes that once linked the Sahara to Marrakech, it was designed as a defensive settlement, with clustered homes, narrow alleys, and fortified walls rising in tiers up the hillside.

It is filled with a maze of passageways, old granaries, and panoramic viewpoints that reveal how desert communities lived, traded, and protected their supplies. Due its unique nature and epic landscape, it has been the place where some of the most famous movies were shot, which include Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Mummy (1999), Gladiator (2000),  Kingdom of Heaven (2005), Prince of Persia (2010), The Odyssey (2026), the TV series Game of Thrones, and many more.

Afterward, continue by road to Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Sahara,” where desert landscapes begin to dominate the horizon. On arrival, check in to your hotel and settle in for a restful overnight stay in Ouarzazate, ready for the next stage of your journey.
