The Great Pyramid

Pyramid of Khafre

The Pyramid of Khafre is a majestic symbol of Old Kingdom power, built for King Khafre of the 4th Dynasty on the legendary Giza Plateau. Though slightly smaller than Khufu’s Great Pyramid, its elevated position and hidden secrets make it appear even more commanding, while the surviving limestone casing near its summit preserves its ancient glory.

Later, transfer to Cairo Airport for your domestic flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy an overnight in Aswan.

Aswan High Dam was constructed in the mid-60s to have total control of the annual flood, save the water in the artificial lake Nasser and produce hydroelectricity.

Philae Temple

Philae Temple of Isis, the goddess of Motherhood, was constructed during the 7^th century BC in the Ptolemaic era to become a diary containing the religious history and stories of ancient Egypt.

Kom Ombo Temple

The temples of Kom Ombo are a unique wonder of greatness containing an epic double monument dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek of the Nile and Horus the elder on both sides of the temple. It is dived into identical two parts and is known to be one of the last ancient Egyptian temples to exist during the Ptolemaic period between 180 BC and 47 BC.

Edfu Temple

Luxor Temple by Night

Luxor Temple was erected in 1400 BC to hold the crowning of kings like Ramses the great and Amenhotep III and hold festivals. During the New Kingdom (1570 – 1050 BC), the Opet festival was held for the rejuvenation of kingship and the blessings of the gods. The great Avenue of Sphinxes connects it to the majestic Karnak Temples complex.

Hanging Church

The Hanging Church is a renowned Coptic church constructed above the southern gatehouse of the ancient Roman Fortress of Babylon in Old Cairo, where the holy family once hid. It was transformed into an important center of the Coptic Orthodox Church and served as the seat of the Coptic Patriarch for several centuries. Its wooden ceiling, icons, marble pulpit, and elevated position have made it the most spiritual landmark in Coptic Cairo.
