After enjoying a generous breakfast, check out of your hotel and meet one of our professional tour guides to begin a full day immersed in Cairo’s most celebrated ancient landmarks.
Your exploration starts at the Giza Plateau, constructed around 2600 B.C. during Egypt’s 4th Dynasty. This vast necropolis stands as a powerful expression of the ancient Egyptians’ belief in eternal life, where monumental structures were raised to secure immortality for their kings.
The Great Pyramid of Khufu is an extraordinary achievement of ancient engineering that feels like it fell from the heavens. It was commissioned by Pharaoh Khufu (2609–2584 B.C.) and completed around 2570 B.C. The pyramid originally stood as the tallest man-made structure on Earth for more than 3,800 years. Today it measures 138.5 meters (454 feet) in height and was constructed from approximately 2.3 million limestone blocks, each weighing an average of 2.6 tons. Its exact alignment with the cardinal points and its complex internal corridors continue to intrigue scholars and visitors alike, making it the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World.
The Great Sphinx is an eternal guardian carved in the likeness of Pharaoh Khafre (2558–2532 B.C.). It is sculpted from a single limestone outcrop; the Sphinx combines the body of a lion with the face of a king, symbolizing royal power and protection. It stretches about 73 meters (240 feet) in length and rises 19 meters (66 feet) high. Between its paws lies the Dream Stela of Thutmose IV (1401–1391 B.C.), adding a layer of legend and historical depth to this iconic monument.
The Valley Temple is an Old Kingdom mortuary complex that served as the sacred setting for purification and mummification rituals. It offered immortality through ceremonies such as the famous “Opening of the Mouth” were performed, offering invaluable insight into ancient Egyptian funerary beliefs and practices.
The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is a striking modern landmark created to narrate 5,000 years of Egyptian civilization. It holds an area of 490,000 square meters and is carefully aligned with the pyramids. The museum offers sweeping views and houses thousands of artifacts, including the entire collection from King Tutankhamun’s tomb. Among its most notable features are the Hanging Obelisk, the monumental Grand Staircase displaying royal masterpieces, statues of Senusret, Merneptah’s Victory Column, and the impressive 11-meter colossus of Ramses II. Together, these exhibits celebrate the artistic brilliance, spiritual depth, and enduring legacy of ancient Egypt.
Pause for a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savor authentic Egyptian cuisine before continuing to your next adventure.
The groundbreaking Saqqara step pyramid came into existence through the brilliance of the visionary architect Imhotep for Pharaoh Djoser (2670–2650 B.C.), this six-tiered monument is recognized as the world’s first large-scale stone structure. Its innovative design transformed royal tomb architecture and paved the way for the later pyramids of Giza. The surrounding ceremonial courtyards and stone-built complex mark a decisive turning point in human architectural history.
In the late afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, a private air-conditioned vehicle will take you directly to your hotel. Check in, unwind, and enjoy a tranquil overnight stay on board, preparing for the next unforgettable chapter of your Egyptian adventure.

Start your day with a hearty breakfast, check-out then meet your expert tour guide to explore the wonders of the East Bank.
The Divine Karnak temple stands as one of the greatest architectural achievements ever undertaken by humankind. Its foundations date back to the Middle Kingdom (2000–1700 BCE), with continuous expansion through the Ptolemaic period (305–30 BCE), resulting in the largest religious complex ever built. Revered as the spiritual heart of ancient Thebes, Karnak was dedicated to the sacred Theban Triad, Amun-Ra, Mut, and Montu. Towering columns, monumental pylons, and richly carved reliefs reflect the power, devotion, and architectural mastery of ancient Egypt, making it today the second most visited site in the country.
Following your immersive exploration of Karnak, return to your cruise for a relaxing lunch. As the Nile glides past, you’ll enjoy a peaceful moment to absorb the scale and significance of the history you’ve just encountered.
The lunar Luxor Temple known in antiquity as Ipet-resyt—“the Southern Sanctuary” was constructed around 1400 BC by Amenhotep III and later expanded by Ramesses II, the temple served as a vital center for royal rituals, most notably the Opet Festival. During this sacred celebration, divine statues were carried along the Avenue of Sphinxes linking Karnak and Luxor. At dusk, illuminated statues, massive pylons, and the temple’s tranquil setting combine to create a truly unforgettable and atmospheric experience.
After your enchanting visit to Luxor Temple, check-in to your Nile cruise for a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay, ready for the next day’s adventures.

The divine Mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut is a majestic marvel that was carved against the celestial cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. Designed by her trusted overseer, Senenmut, this masterpiece of ancient architecture dates to the 15th century BC and stands as one of Egypt’s most complete and harmonious temple complexes. Formed of three vast terraces rising from the desert floor, the temple reflects both the spiritual devotion and architectural ambition of Egypt’s most powerful female pharaoh, celebrating her reign through balance, symmetry, and monumental design.
The divine and precious Valley of the Kings is the royal necropolis of ancient Egypt’s greatest rulers, that uncover some of the most incredible facts. Used for nearly 500 years during the 18th to 20th Dynasties of the New Kingdom (1570–1050 BC), the valley contains 63 tombs richly adorned with vivid murals, mythological scenes, and intricate funerary texts. These beautifully decorated chambers provide profound insight into ancient Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife and the spiritual journey of the pharaohs into eternity.

Revered by ancient Greek and Roman travelers, their immense scale and enduring presence stand as a powerful reminder of Egypt’s artistic and cultural achievements.

Day 5: The Golden Wonders of Edfu and Kom Ombo
Begin your morning with a pleasant breakfast on board your cruise, then meet your knowledgeable guide and set off on a charming horse-drawn carriage ride to explore two of Upper Egypt’s most remarkable temples.
The remarkable Temple of Kom Ombo is a unique Ptolemaic-era monument built between 180 and 47 BC. Unlike any other temple in Egypt, it was dedicated to two gods simultaneously: Sobek, the crocodile god associated with fertility and protector of the south, and Haroeris (Horus the Elder), the falcon-headed god of the north. Its distinctive design features twin sanctuaries, halls, and entrances, perfectly mirroring the dual nature of its divine patrons. The finely carved reliefs and statues throughout the temple reveal a carefully balanced spiritual vision, making Kom Ombo one of Egypt’s most intriguing sacred sites.
The glorious Temple of Edfu, the god of victory and divine kingship, was made under Ptolemy III around 237 BC and was completed by Ptolemy XII in 57 BC, resulting in one of the best-preserved ancient temples in Egypt. Located on the western bank of the Nile, the temple is believed to stand on the legendary site of the epic battle between Horus and Set, a myth that symbolized the eternal struggle between order and chaos, good and evil. Its towering pylons, vast courtyards, and richly inscribed walls vividly bring ancient mythology to life.
After a full morning of discovery, return to your Nile cruise to enjoy a relaxed lunch on board, accompanied by sweeping views of the riverbanks. As evening approaches, savor a delicious dinner while the Nile flows quietly around you. Settle in for a peaceful overnight stay on the cruise, ready to continue your journey through Egypt’s timeless landscapes the next day.

Begin your morning with a flavorful breakfast, then meet your guide and set out to discover Aswan’s most celebrated landmarks.
The Aswan High Dam is a great landmark of modern engineering that was completed between 1960 and 1970. This immense project transformed Egypt by regulating the Nile’s annual floods, forming the vast Lake Nasser, and generating hydroelectric power that supported the country’s modernization. Standing here offers insight into how ancient dependence on the Nile evolved into a modern strategy for national growth and stability.
The grand Unfinished Obelisk is a colossal piece of art that was commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC) to pierce the skies. Intended to become the largest obelisk ever raised, the work was halted when a crack appeared in the granite while it was still in the quarry. Left exactly where ancient craftsmen abandoned it, the obelisk provides a rare and invaluable look into ancient Egyptian stone-cutting methods and the extraordinary scale of their architectural ambitions.
Philae temple is a masterpiece of Ptolemaic architecture and mythical beauty dating to 380–362 BC. It was dedicated to Isis, goddess of magic, love, and motherhood, the temple is celebrated for its serene setting and finely carved reliefs illustrating the myths of Isis, Osiris, and Horus. Following the construction of the Aswan High Dam, the entire complex was meticulously relocated to Agilkia Island, where it continues to stand beautifully preserved.

More than an entrance, the gate was a ceremonial statement, designed to impress foreign envoys and declare Meknes as a seat of imperial power.
The Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail is a peaceful complex that remains an active religious site and is one of the rare sacred places in Morocco accessible to non-Muslims. Inside, tranquil courtyards, softly lit prayer rooms, and intricate plasterwork surround the tomb of the Sultan. Its private villas preserve exceptional Roman mosaics still in their original locations, depicting mythological scenes such as Hercules, Orpheus, and Venus, which reflect both high artistic skill and the affluent lifestyle of its residents. The 3rd-century Basilica functioned as the city’s administrative and judicial hub, where legal and civic affairs were conducted beneath towering columns.
At the ceremonial core stands the Triumphal Arch of Caracalla, built in 211 AD to honor Emperor Caracalla and once topped by a bronze chariot, symbolizing the city’s loyalty to Rome. Nearby, the Capitoline Temple, dedicated to Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva, reinforced Roman religious and political authority. The remains of the forum and public baths further reveal everyday Roman life, showcasing spaces for commerce, debate, hygiene, and social interaction, giving Volubilis a vivid sense of a lived Roman city.
