The Great Pyramid

The Temple of Artemis

The Temple of Artemis is a legendary monument that came to be around 550 BC under King Croesus of Lydia and designed by architect Chersiphron. The Temple of Artemis measured approximately 115 × 55 meters and featured 127 marble columns, each 18 meters high. It was destroyed by arson in 356 BC, the night Alexander the Great was born; it was rebuilt and later damaged by the goths in 262 AD. Although only remnants survive today, it was once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, representing the religious significance and architectural innovation of Ephesus.

Celsus Library

Celsus Library is a divine relic from the past that came to be between 117 and 120 AD by Gaius Julius Aquila to honor his father, Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus. The library housed up to 12,000 scrolls, making it the third largest in the Roman world. Celsus is buried beneath the entrance, an unusual honor. The library’s façade features symbolic statues representing Wisdom, Knowledge, Intelligence, and Virtue, showcasing Roman elegance and intellectual legacy.

Theater of Ephesus

Temple of Hadrian

Temple of Hadrian is a magnificant marvel that was completed around 138 AD during Emperor Hadrian’s rule, this temple features a well-preserved façade with 4th-century reliefs depicting Ephesus’s founding myth and deities, including Androklos. Though relatively small, it stands as one of Ephesus’s finest examples of Roman architectural artistry and imperial reverence.

Harbor Street

Harbor Street / Arcadian Way is a heavenly marvel that was commissioned in the 1st Century AD by Emperor Augustus and renovated under Emperor Arcadius (395–408 AD), Harbor Street stretched about 530 meters long and 11 meters wide, linking the theater to the harbor. It is believed to be among the first ancient streets illuminated by oil lamps, it was lined with Corinthian colonnades and shops, reflecting Ephesus’s importance as a major Mediterranean trade hub.

House of the Virgin Mary

House of the Virgin Mary is a biblical miracle that is believed to be the final residence of the Virgin Mary, this stone structure dates to the 1st century AD. According to Christian tradition, Saint John brought Mary to Ephesus around 36 AD.
