Day Two: Head to the Giza Pyramids Complex
The whole family will have their breakfast in their hotel, and they will head with their tour guide to explore the Grand Giza Plateau in full detail:
The Giza Pyramids complex is a touch from the heavens, home to ancient art pieces that hold the greatest stories, such as:
The Great Pyramid of King Khufu is a work of art and power standing at a height of 147 m (481 ft) as King Khufu's immortal tomb. It came to be in 2600 BC to be known for being the only surviving member of the seven wonders of the ancient world and the source of many mysteries of ancient Egypt.
The Pyramid of Khafre is the second-largest pyramid at the Giza Plateau and was built for King Khafre of the 4th Dynasty around the 26th century BC. It appears taller than the Great Pyramid because it stands on higher ground and still preserves some of its original limestone casing near the top. The pyramid is closely connected to the Great Sphinx and reflects the power, precision, and divine kingship of ancient Egypt’s Old Kingdom.
The Pyramid of Menkaure is the smallest of the three main pyramids of Giza, built for King Menkaure of the 4th Dynasty around the 26th century BC. Although smaller in size, it is known for its elegant proportions and its original lower casing, which included beautiful granite blocks. This pyramid completes the iconic Giza pyramid trio and represents the final royal monument of the great 4th Dynasty pyramid-building tradition.
The great Sphinx of Pharaoh Khafre (2558 – 2532 BC) represents the wisdom and strength of Khafre, who wished to immortalize his image on the head of a mythical creature. The dream stele of Thutmose IV is evidence of the spiritual connection of this grand statue with the ancient Egyptian royalty.
Before visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum, the whole family will enjoy an unforgettable camel ride across the golden sands of the Giza Plateau, surrounded by the timeless beauty of the ancient pyramids.
The Valley Temple is a mysterious structure that has always been a religious center with the divine power to gift the bodies of ancient kings and queens with immortality through mummification.
The whole family will have their lunch at a Pyramids and Nile view restaurant, then move to visit:
The Grand Egyptian Museum is a giant portal to 5,000 years of history, revealing the artistry, spirituality, and epic culture of ancient Egypt. It was oriented toward the astral pyramids of Giza and spread across nearly 490,000 square meters. GEM houses one of the Middle East’s largest conservation centers alongside research laboratories and educational facilities dedicated to safeguarding Egypt’s heritage. Visitors will encounter timeless masterpieces, from the Hanging Obelisk and the 11-meter colossus of Ramses II to the complete assemblage of more than 5,000 artifacts from Tutankhamun.
The family will head back to their hotel to relax and spend the night.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Overnight: Cairo Hotel
Day Three: Tour the Classical Monuments of Old Cairo
The whole family will have breakfast at their hotel in Cairo, then they will continue your guide by visiting:
The Hanging Church is one of the oldest and most famous Coptic churches in Egypt, built above the southern gatehouse of the ancient Roman Fortress of Babylon in Old Cairo. It became an important center of the Coptic Orthodox Church and served as the seat of the Coptic Patriarch for several centuries. Its wooden ceiling, icons, marble pulpit, and elevated position make it one of the most beautiful spiritual landmarks in Coptic Cairo.
The Church of Abu Serga, also known as Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church, is one of the oldest churches in Cairo, dating back to the early centuries of Christianity in Egypt. It is traditionally believed to have been built above the place where the Holy Family rested during their journey in Egypt. Its ancient crypt, basilica-style design, and sacred atmosphere make it one of the most meaningful Christian heritage sites in Old Cairo.
The Ben Ezra Synagogue is one of the most important heritage landmarks in Egypt, located in the heart of Old Cairo near the Coptic churches. It is traditionally associated with the place where baby Moses was found and later became famous for the discovery of the Cairo Geniza, a priceless collection of Jewish manuscripts. Its history reflects the rich multicultural identity of Cairo, where Jewish, Christian, and Islamic heritage stood side by side for centuries.
The whole family will have their lunch in Cairo and then head to:
Salah El-Din Citadel is a sight to behold, offering a great view over Cairo since its construction in 1182 AD to become a defensive fortress and home to some of the most incredible inner museums and mosques showcasing rare designs for the golden Islamic age.
Mohamed Ali the alabaster Mosque is a living piece of art that speaks volumes about the character of Egypt and the importance of liberty and independence. It was completed in 1848 AD, featuring marvelous Ottoman architecture and foreign elements of decoration.
Exploring the miraculous Al Muizz street will shed light on the golden artistic and architectural marvels of golden Cairo, which was made in the 10th century AD during the Fatimid era and is able to explore the most amazing examples of architecture and art, showcasing many amazing tales and facts.
Khan El-Khalili bazaar is a road from ancient times that offers a trip to the golden past of Islamic times. It was built in 970 AD to house some of the most incredible artifacts and goods that make every shopping experience one to remember.
