The six-tier Saqqara step pyramid is an architectural masterpiece designed by the legendary architect Imhotep for Pharaoh Djoser (c. 2670–2650 BCE). As the first large-scale stone monument ever built, this six-step pyramid marked the beginning of Egypt’s golden age of pyramid construction and laid the groundwork for the grand pyramids of Giza.

In the evening, you’ll be transferred to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, you will check into your 5-star hotel for a restful overnight stay, preparing for the remarkable wonders of Upper Egypt awaiting you the next day.

Aswan High Dam is one of the most remarkable feats of modern engineering in Egypt, which was built between 1960 and 1970. It was built with the collaboration of the Moscow-based Hydroproject Institute; its primary purpose was to control the annual flooding of the Nile, provide hydroelectric power, and ensure water storage for irrigation across Egypt. This colossal structure created Lake Nasser, one of the largest man-made lakes in the world, and transformed the way water resources were managed in the region.

The Unfinished Obelisk is an extraordinary relic from ancient Egypt that offers insight into the immense scale and ambition of Egyptian architecture. It was constructed between 237 BC and 57 BC during the Ptolemaic period to commemorate the epic fight between Horus and Set, which had taken place in the same location for 80 years. It seamlessly blends traditional Egyptian architectural styles with Greek influences, showcasing the cultural fusion of the time. The Temple of Artemis is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, that was built around 550 BC under King Croesus of Lydia. The Celsus Library is a remarkable feat of Roman architecture, that came into existence between 117 and 120 AD by Gaius Julius Aquila in honor of his father, Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus.
