Qaitbay Citadel is the protector of ancient soul belonging to the legendary lighthouse of Alexandria. It was constructed by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-din Qa'it bay in 1477 AD on the same location which contained the epic lighthouse of Alexandria plus its salvaged stone block was used to build the mosque.

Day Four: Diving at Heracleion then Return to Cairo

You will have your breakfast then head with your tour guide to the epic city of Heracleion in Alexandria. You will meet your Diving instructor who will guide you every step of the way in your diving trip.

Everyone will dive in the belly of the Meditteranean Sea which shows the great ancient Egyptian civilization still holds hidden treasures. “Thonis-Heracleion” was an ancient Egyptian port city found near the Canopic Mouth of the Nile, about 32 km (20 mi) northeast of Alexandria on the Mediterranean Sea. It was heavily mentioned in the chroniclers of many great Greek historians who date its early beginnings to the 12 century BC.

It holds the sanctuary of the goddess Neith of Sais one of the prime deities who created and governed the universe. The city was known by both its Egyptian and Greek names and was famous for being visited by Paris and Helen of Troy before the legendary Trojan War and the great Heracles.
