The Mega Theatre was originally built by the Nabataeans in the early 1st century AD. Petra’s Theatre was later enlarged under Roman rule around 106 AD, after the Roman annexation of Nabataea. With a seating capacity of up to 7,000, it remains one of the city’s largest monuments.
