The Giza Pyramids complex is dated back to the 4th dynasty. The complex consists of three legendary pyramids which were used as the resting place of the best-known rulers in the 4th dynasty.
The largest pyramid of Giza Complex belongs to Pharaoh Khufu (2609 BC - 2584 BC) and this structure was considered the tallest building in the ancient world at a height of 138.5 meters (454.4 ft) for over 3800 years since its completion in 2570 BC. The Pyramid is very famous for its architectural brilliance and perfection as it holds many chambers and faces the four cardinal points of the compass.
The Sphinx is one of the most prominent sculptures in Egypt's history. The Sphinx is a limestone statue with a lion's body and a man's head which was requested by Pharaoh Khafre (2558 – 2532 BC) as a representation of his wisdom and strength.
A funerary temple of limestone located at Giza Plateau is devoted to King Chephren and it was used for the process of mummification and purification which is known as the Opening of the Mouth Ceremony.
The Grand Egyptian Museum serves as a modern gateway rising from the Giza plateau to more than 5,000 years of pharaonic heritage. Encompassing nearly 490,000 m² and purposefully aligned with the eternal gaze of the pyramids, it stands as a monumental tribute to Egypt’s timeless legacy. Within its soaring, sunlit atrium and meticulously climate-controlled galleries, visitors encounter some of the nation’s most iconic wonders: the awe-inspiring Hanging Obelisk, the monumental 11-metre colossus of Ramses II, a suite of ten statues of King Senusret, the majestic processional Grand Staircase, and Merneptah’s Victory Column. At its very core lies the most complete, purpose-curated exhibition of over 5,000 treasures from Tutankhamun, offering an unparalleled journey into the artistry, faith, and enduring power of one of humanity’s greatest civilizations.
