"My wife and I have traveled in Mexico, Canada, London, Scotland, Brussels, Athens, Rome Venice and all over the United States and have always freestyled with no tour package. We like the freedom and ability to make it up as we go. But when we decided to go to Egypt we had a sense a tour company would be the best because they would know where to go and how to keep us safe. But the big question, how to know who to trust. We examined many options and decided on Egypt Tour Portal because of past reviews and the flexible packages. Well, we could not have made a better decision. We booked a 14 day tour package with two friends ( a party of four) and have only ended day three. The booking process was assisted by Walaa Atif and she was so helpful every time we had a question. We booked about nine months out so over that time we had many questions. She stayed attentive to us all the way through with quick responses. We got off the plane and was met by Mr. Mohammed holding a sign with all of our names. He took our passports and quickly got our visas squared away, took us through customs and to baggage claim where one of our bags was a long time coming out. It finally made it out and he loaded everything up and took to the waiting vehicle where our driver, Mohammed #2 took us to our hotel at Steigenberger Hotel with pyramid view rooms across from the Grand Egyptian Museum. When we arrived at our hotel we were met by our first tour guide. There are not enough stars to rate our tour guide in Cairo and Alexandria, Mr. Ahmed Elgohary, for his expertise, attention to detail, knowledge of the area and care he takes of us. He knows all the best tucked away restaurants to give us the experience of great Egyptian local food. He was accommodating to our every wish, question and need. There is a lot of walking and stairs on these tours. My wife has some knee challenges and Ahmed was so patient and would go out of the way to find places to sit in the shade for a moment. He is so friendly and conversation and a great smile. I've only known him for three days, but he is already a friend! Ok, getting around. I have decided there are no traffic rules in Egypt. Cars and trucks of all sizes, mixed with donkey carts, and pedestrians occupy the same road space with no lanes and seemingly no speed limit, all criss-crossing at will. I'm a pretty good driver, but I would be intimidated in this environment. Our driver, Hussein, was a master at getting where we needed to go safely, through big wide roads and narrow single vehicle streets. When we stop he comes around and opens doors, smiling and helping us out. We campaigned to have him drive us each day. He is amazing! If you are thinking of coming to Egypt, do NOT do it without booking through Egypt Tours Portal. I would even recommend asking for Ahmed Elgohary to be your tour guide and request Hussein to be your driver. This is an amazing place and it is even a greater experience with Egypt Tours Portal handling the details."

"This is going to be a long review but if you want me to cut to the chase, Egypt Tours Portal gets 10/10, 5 stars, A++ & I can’t say enough good things about our guides Ahmed Refaat (Cairo) and Mahmoud Hassan (Luxor) I was so lucky to stumble across Egypt Tours Portal (ETP) when I came across a photo of a group holding their sign. I was planning a trip to Egypt for 6 of us, thinking I would probably book everything myself (done that before) but I thought it would not hurt to see what an agency would quote us. It would have been a HUGE mistake to go it alone!! From the moment I reached out to ETP, to the moment we stepped on the plane in Cairo to come home, I have been so happy with ETP. They really became our travel partner. Us: We are 6 adults, from Canada, with ages from 18-60 something. Myself and my husband have been to Egypt several times before, this was the first time for the others. I knew what we wanted to see and do, for the most part, and knew what I didn’t want! I gave a rough outline of my plan to ETP and they made it happen. We went back and forth over Whatsapp and it was seamless. We narrowed down the itinerary quickly and it was truly tailored to us and included all transfers, accommodations, tours with guide and many meals. They literally came back with a price that was cheaper than I could have done on my own by thousands of dollars. Only stumbling block was making payment – my bank cards would not work with the deposit link, nor would it work in person when we paid the balance there. In retrospect, when we were there we should have called the credit card number and they would have allowed it to go through so allow extra time for that! A note about the tour set up: we did have another couple join us through ETP for 5 days in Luxor. They were an absolutely wonderful couple from Ireland and honestly it was lovely to have them along with us & added to the experience. Let’s talk about our GUIDES and ETP staff in Egypt: after 11 ½ hour flight we were very happy to see out ETP rep at Cairo airport. He was very friendly and walked us through immigration making us feel like VIPs. He handed us off to our driver who took us to our hotel. The van was large, clean, comfortable and air conditioned, as were all the vehicles ETP used with us so there are no concerns there. Our Cairo guide, Ahmed Refaat, connected with me prior to our departure from Canada so we knew we would meet him at our hotel the following morning. We were in Cairo for a few days in the beginning and a few days at the end of our 19 day trip and were lucky to have Ahmed the both times which was amazing & made us all feel comfortable. We actually tweaked our plans while we were there and I just dealt with Ahmed and he made it all happen. Ahmed speaks great English, was very responsive over Whatsapp, really knows his stuff and was a lot of fun. You know a guide is good when you all feel sad to say goodbye. He literally came to the airport to see us off (which he did not have to do!) Bonus: Ahmed is a GREAT photographer!!! He knows all the angles and you will love the photos he takes of you! So many great group photos of the 6 of us. During our first few days we went to: the GEM, the Pyramids & the Sphinx (our youngest daughter was unwell that morning and Ahmed was very patient and offered a work around to reschedule should we need it), Saqqara & Memphis, Nile dinner cruise, camel riding and some wonderful lunches. When we returned from Luxor after 10 days in the south we went to : the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (not originally on the plan but an excellent recommendation from Ahmed), Coptic Cairo, Islamic Cairo, the Egyptian Museum(where Ahmed used to be a guide), Fatimid Cairo and the Khan el-Khalili, and Alexandria where we saw the catacombs, Pompeii pillar, the new library and the Citadel. During the Islamic tour Ahmed arranged for a member of the community to sing for us which was very special, and when we shopped in the Khan el-Khalili he really helped us barter. It is a sport over there! Ahmed, along with our wonderful driver Hassan, set the bar HIGH. When we went to Luxor we were hoping for another great guide and we certainly got that with Mahmoud Hassan. This man is an absolute sweetheart. Always cheerful and upbeat even when it is 44 degrees or we are driving somewhere at 4 in the morning. Again, he speaks great English and has excellent knowledge about all the sites and takes an excellent photo. His rallying cry of “Yalla yalla Habibi” is forever etched into our hearts! With Mahmoud we saw: Dendera and Abydos, Luxor Temple (at night), Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s Temple, the colossi of Memnon from Luxor. When we were on the Nile cruise we saw Edfu ,Kom Ombo, Philae and also went to Abu Simbel (not to be missed!!) When we were with Mahmoud we also added on some excursions: a felucca ride in Aswan and the most wonderful hot air balloon trip when we were in Luxor. Both were memorable experiences. We also asked to go to a good cotton shop in Aswan and so we went to Isis cotton which was a great experience. Fair prices, great service, exceptional product. We met with Mahmoud on our last day because we wanted to shop! We went to a papyrus factory – this is the first time in Egypt that it’s been at our request as we’ve previously been taken as part of a tour whether we wanted to or not so this was a very refreshing change. He took us to the Luxor souk and helped us with bartering, we visited the amazing Oum Kalthoum café for a bit of a break and then he took us into the non-tourist part of the market which was the most amazing experience, especially for my daughters. We went to a dress shop full of local ladies and we were treated exceptionally kindly. The girls / young women were fascinated with my daughters and it was honestly one of the most beautiful moments of the trip seeing my daughters connect with these local girls. Mahmoud exudes joy & is an utter delight & we were sad to say goodbye. To meet Ahmed and Mahmoud as strangers and part as friends, and to deal with such an easy company as Egypt Tours Portal truly was a gift. The trip went so smoothly and we made memories that will last a life time and we are so grateful to them for that. We would use Egypt Tours Portal again in a heartbeat."

"Our 18-day journey of Egypt, from Alexandria all the way to Abu Simbel, was EPIC and Egypt tours portal was instrumental in making that happen. Our journey began in December 2025 with a decision to use this company based on numerous positive trip advisor reviews. We had a large itinerary to fill and with a lot of conversing with the company they put together a private tour for us, and it did not disappoint. From the time we were met at the airport to the time for us to leave, our group of six never wanted for anything. We were well cared for and felt safe the whole time. The transportation was clean, responsive, and drivers were all excellent. We had several itinerary changes, and the company, drivers and our two guides were all very flexible. Our guide: first up is Ahmed Refaat, our guide to northern Egypt! Ahmed was our first contact when we arrived, and we spent eight days with him while we toured the first and last part of our itinerary in and around Cairo. Ahmed is very knowledgeable in hieroglyphic translation, tells fantastic stories, answers every question and takes the most fantastic photos that you will cherish and want to hang on your walls!!! He introduced us to excellent Cairo cuisine. It was wonderful sharing his obvious love and passion for this wild, vibrant, crazy city and ancient civilization that is Cairo. Our guide: Mahmoud Hassan, our guide to the southern Egypt!! Hands down the best guide to southern Egypt you will ever have the privilege of knowing. He's cheeky, funny and his personality is endearing, easily the best guide I've ever had for a tour, period. We had another guide for one separate component and whilst they were fine, it made us appreciate the Omar difference. (Once you go Omar, you can never go back). He taught us so much and made us feel like ancient Egyptian scholars, but treated us like family. Ask for Omar and you won't regret it. Outside of that, the tour was really well run and great value for money. Our cruise boat was excellent. The food was great and all transport vehicles/drivers were excellent. Would 100% recommend."

"Egypt Portal Tours organised a 10 day tour for us, starting in Cairo, followed by a river cruise from Luxor to Aswan, before returning again to Cairo. We were met at the airport, shown through security, helped with getting visas, and brought straight to a car waiting outside for us. This was a sign of things to come. Everything was organised for us and ran very smoothly. In Cairo, our guide Bassant showed us around the pyramids of Giza on our first day in Cairo, and upon our return took us to the Grand Egyptian Museum. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about her subject, and her English was very good. She was happy to take photos, recommend coffee shop, and was a pleasure to spend time with. And as it was off-peak we had Bassant all to ourselves! In Luxor we were met by our guide, Mahmoud, who accompanied us for all the days on the river cruise, and our activities between Luxor and Aswan. Mahmoud was so passionate about the temples we visited and proud of his Egyptian heritage. He was really pleasant to spend time with, taking photos for us, and answering our questions. Each day we were in a small group of only 8 people and the whole experience felt very personal. There were times that options would be offered and tailored to our desires. One of these was the hot air balloon ride at Luxor which is not to be missed! We would highly recommend egypt portal tours. Their help in planning the trip, and the smoothness of our experience in Egypt, was very professional."

"My three friends and I recently completed a 12 day tour of Cairo, Alexandria, the Nile, and Hurghada with Egypt Tours Portal, and it was an experience of a lifetime. The organization was top notch; the staff was incredibly proactive, responsive, and accommodating throughout the entire process. The Highlights and Guides The absolute peak of the trip was Cairo. The Pyramids and the new Grand Egyptian Museum were breathtaking. Our guide in Cairo, Reda, was phenomenal. He had a professor like depth of knowledge that we really appreciated, making the history truly come alive. During our Nile Cruise, our guide Nima was also wonderful. He was very friendly, highly involved, and always making sure our group was having a great time. Logistics and Transport The Meet and Assist service at the airport made the customs process and transition to the van smooth and swift. The transport throughout the trip was excellent; the vans were clean, comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly. Our drivers were always punctual and had cold water ready for us. A special shoutout to our driver, Amr, who went above and beyond for us. He truly deserves a raise for his exceptional service! The Nile Cruise Experience The cruise itself offered beautiful views and delicious food, and the boat staff were very friendly. Our cabins were clean and comfortable. However, be prepared for a very fast pace. Between early wake up calls and late returns from excursions, we found we had very little time to actually enjoy the ship’s amenities. Additionally, be prepared for some pushy vendors on the boat and local sellers in canoes who follow the ships; they can be quite loud and persistent. Snorkeling in Hurghada Unfortunately, our snorkeling experience was the one major disappointment of the trip. We went with Blue Horizon Snorkeling Adventures on a boat called Dream M, and it was subpar. Since it was the first time snorkeling for most of us, we were looking for guidance, but the team was rude and completely uninvolved. Some of the equipment did not work properly, and there was no one available to help or guide us through the process. It felt like a waste of a day. Private vs Shared Most of our tour was private for just the four of us, which was a luxury. We only had one day that was shared with about 8 other people, but it was well managed and did not detract from the experience. Pro Tips for Future Travelers Plan for Alexandria: We highly recommend the visit to Alexandria to see the coastal side of Egypt's history. However, check the calendar! The Library is closed on Fridays. We unfortunately could only take a photo from the outside because our visit fell on a Friday. Plan accordingly so you can actually go inside! Pace Yourself: The cruise schedule is packed. If you want chill time, you might need to coordinate that specifically with the office beforehand. Research your boat: If you plan on snorkeling in Hurghada, I would recommend looking for a different provider than the one we had. Final Verdict Egypt Tours Portal handles the logistics of a complex trip with ease. Despite the snorkeling setback, we felt safe, informed, and well cared for the entire 12 days."

The guides, Nima and Reda were both great, but in different ways — Nima was more social and engaging, while Reda stood out for being very calm and very knowledgeable. A special thank you to Nadine, who did an outstanding job organizing everything. She was always very responsive, extremely friendly, and incredibly patient — she really made a difference throughout the whole experience. However, the snorkeling activity in Hurghada was a very poor and unacceptable experience for our group of four people. Operated by Blue Horizon Snorkeling Adventures (boat Dream M, instructor Hamza M Ail), this was clearly not adapted for beginners or casual snorkelers. The instructor only picked us up and brought us to the boat — after that, he completely disappeared. Likely was with the people diving. We were left alone in the water with no guidance, no supervision, and no proper assistance, even when we encountered difficulties. This felt unsafe, unprofessional, and poorly managed. For a standard tour package, this is simply not acceptable. It was a waste of time and by far the worst part of the trip. The main tour was excellent and that's why I give the 5 stars, but this external activity seriously needs to be reconsidered."

We had already put down about $AUD2000 deposit, but under the tour cancellation terms, we were liable for 75% of the TOTAL tour cost. After a few email exchanges, Egypt Tours Portal agreed to waive the extra cancellation fees. We lost our deposit but that's fair enough, given the work and planning they'd already done. "The experience with Egypt Tourism Portal (EGP) was a bit below our expectations. They claim to be super organized and following the norms but they did some clear mistakes during the organization of our travel and we were left one time without transfer to the airport at 4.00 am (we had to take an Uber) and with 45 minutes delay at the arrival. The most disappointing part is that I shared multiple times the locations of our accomodations. Apart from these organizational mistakes, the tour was characterized by small group or even private transfers and tours around Cairo, Assuan, Abu Simbel, Luxor. This was very appreciated, very comfortable new cars with professional drivers and air conditioning. The touristic guides Bassant in Cairo and Ahmed in Assuan were the best we could have imagined, the best part of the trip, 10/10 to them. Considering that they are freelance guides, EGP should really rely on them in the future because they made our experience unique! Thanks a lot for your work. The experience with Samar in Luxor felt a bit more superficial in the explanation. Considering that there are in my opinion the best monuments we saw (especially the Valley of Kings) the explanations of the guide could have been more detailed. 7/10 for her. The choice of the restaurants felt a bit repetitive. Very similar meals every day which after few days started feeling a bit boring. The monuments in Egypt is amazing so the experience was anyway extremely cool. Overall, it just fell a bit overpriced as some other agencies were offering lower prices and EGP did not seem such a premium experience to be honest. I would in any case recommend them but not full 5 stars experience for us. We would anyway recommend to go with Egypt Tours Portal."

"Our private tour began on Day 1 with a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum. Given that our time to the GEM was limited to approximately 4 hours, our tour guide Eman Mostafa (Emy) covered a lot of ground, explaining the vast collection within the complex. The tour concluded with a dinner cruise along the Nile River, complete with entertainment on board. The next day, we visited the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Egyptian Museum. "After being confused about how to choose from the multitude of options to book a Nile cruise, we came to Egypt Tours Portal. The booking process may feel a bit strange at first if you are used to systems like booking.com to organise your holiday as communication mostly consists of them assuring you "it's easy and everything is fine". But now that we're done, I'm happy to report that they were actually correct - they know what they are doing and our entire trip ran exceptionally smoothly. From our pickup at a stupidly early time at Aswan airport, our tour guide Hossam Hassan (who you will also come to know as Bruno Mars) was exceptionally well organised - and that lasted throughout the entire trip. Communication was excellent and easy (we did it in English). He is very knowledgeable and I would recommend that you challenge him to read some hieroglyphs at Karnak temple if you want to be impressed! The cruise itself was everything we wanted - food on the boat (the Chateau Lafayette) was excellent and accommodations were clean, well serviced and had everything you need. I kept being surprised by how prompt the housekeeping staff were and the smiles and sense of humour the staff on the boat displayed at all times. The day tour to Abu Simbel is a long one, about 3 hours' drive in each direction. Bring a pillow or neck pillow for in the minibus and catch some sleep. When you get the option to get up early to go to Edfu Temple before sailing on for the day or sleeping in a bit, I would definitely recommend to get up and go and see it! I would not hesitate to recommend a cruise booked through Egypt Tours Portal."

Overview: 14-day part-private and part-small group tour of key Egypt’s and Jordan’s principal attractions; 11 days in Egypt, 3 days in Jordan. Pricing: Tour price included hotels, 3-day Nile River Cruise, at least 2 meals per day (3 meals per day on the Nile Cruise and at Hurghada), guides and drivers, in-country airfare, admission to all attractions, meet and greet services, and airport transfers. I believe that the cost that we were quoted was a good value for the services that were provided. What We Did: Marehan at ETP arranged the tour and put together a fantastic itinerary. Cairo: Grand Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza, and a Nile River dinner cruise. 3+day Nile River Cruise visiting: Philae, Abu Simbel, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Karnak, Luxor, and Hatshepsut Temples; Valley of the Kings; and several other notable and interesting sites. Hurghada: 2-day stay at a semi-all-inclusive resort. Cairo (again): National Egyptian Museum, Citadel, and the bazaar. Jordan: 4 days including St. George’s Church in Madaba, Mt. I also have to mention our professional drivers in Cairo and in Jordan, Mohammed and Murad… great conversationalists and safety conscious to help keep your mind at ease. Accommodations: Triumph Luxury Hotel in Cairo (our favorite), the Jolie Ville Island Resort in Luxor (really nice), and the Swiss Inn Resort in Hurghada. Our Nile Cruise was aboard the M/S Royal Amira Princess. In Jordan: Landmark Hotel in Amman (undergoing renovation), the Petra Old Village in Petra (a quaint, smaller hotel), and the Mazayen Luxury Camp at Wadi Rum (certainly not luxury and has some interesting rules and restrictions, but the best home-cooked dinner we had on this or any other trip we have taken). Provided Meals: I have no complaints with the meals that were provided. Each meal was excellent, plentiful, and had a wide variety of choices to meet your dietary needs and desires. Be prepared to pay for drinks, including water in some cases. Final Words: No regrets. Egypt Tours Portal did an exceptional job putting this tour together for us. We saw what we wanted to see and dealt with quality professionals from the tour's planning stage through completion. It was the right mix for us between private tours and group tours.
