Aswan is the southern gate of Egypt, its located in southern Egypt on the east bank of the Nile river, it faces the island of Elephantine. It’s one of the driest places in the world and one of the most relax places in Egypt where quiet, beautiful nature, temperate, dry climate and warm sun.
Aswan is called “Swenett” or “Souan” in ancient Egypt which means a market where it was a trade center with ancient Egypt and Sudan. Aswan name becomes Syene in the ancient Greek, then become Aswan now. It was the frontier garrison around the history, which protect ancient Egypt from Nubbin attacks and play a major role when Kings of the Middle Kingdom try to conquer the south lands and to repel the Hexos. It was the home of the first war school in Egypt built by Mohamed Ali.
